Es wird gerne einmal bestritten das der Pass von Satam al Suqami unversehrt in der Nähe des WTC gefunden wurde. Hier ist nun die Sammelstelle für Medien die über diesen Umstand berichtet haben:

ABC News vom 12.09.2001
ABCNEWS sources identify another hijacker as Satan Suqami, a Saudi national on American Airlines Flight 11, whose passport was recovered in the rubble.

ABC News vom 16.09.2001
The FBI has been conducting a block-by-block "grid search" through devastated lower Manhattan, looking for the voice and flight data recorders of the two aircraft flown into the twin towers.

Investigators discovered the passport of Satam al Suqami, one of the terrorists aboard American Airlines Flight 11, the first plane to hit the World Trade Center.

The Guardian vom 19.03.2002
In less than a week came another find, two blocks away from the twin towers, in the shape of Atta's passport. We had all seen the blizzard of paper rain down from the towers, but the idea that Atta's passport had escaped from that inferno unsinged would have tested the credulity of the staunchest supporter of the FBI's crackdown on terrorism.

Auch bei Mosaik 9/11 wird man zum Thema fündig:
New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said Sunday a passport belonging to one of the hijackers was discovered a few days ago several blocks from the crash site by a passerby. Based on the new evidence, the FBI and police decided to widen the search area beyond the immediate crash site. (CNN, 16.09.2001)

edition.cnn.com/2001/US/09/16/gen.americ...er.attack/index.html
Authorities investigating Tuesday's attack on the World Trade Center found a passport belonging to one of the hijackers three blocks from the demolished 110-story buildings, New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said. Officials declined to say to whom the passport was issued, but a government source said that it was a Saudi passport. (Washington Post, 17.09.2001)

Last week, a passport belonging to one of the hijackers was found in the vicinity of Vesey Street, near the World Trade Center. "It was a significant piece of evidence for us," Mawn said. (CNN, 18.09.2001)

edition.cnn.com/2001/US/09/17/inv.invest...terrorism/index.html
Die Ermittler in den USA haben den Pass eines an den Anschlägen beteiligten Terroristen gefunden. Das Dokument sei mehrere Straßen vom zerstörten World Trade Center in New York entfernt entdeckt worden, teilte die Polizei mit. (Quelle), 17.09.2001

Und so findet man im 9/11 Commission Report - dem offiziellen Bericht - folgenden Hinweis:
Only the passports of Satam al Suqami and Abdul Aziz al Omari were recovered after 9/11. Both had been doctored. (Anm. 106, Chapter 7)
