Media disinfo/misinfo, embellishment and bias

EMBELLISHMENT

Steve Anderson — USA Today

I watched in horror as the plane...drug it's wing along the ground

MISINFO

Campo, Omar
“moved straight to the building”

Complete mistranslation of Spanish account.

McClellan, Kenneth
The C-130 pilot 'followed the aircraft and reported it was heading into the Pentagon,' he said. 'He saw it crash into the building. He saw the fireball.

McClellan is a Pentagon spokesman and is not a witness. What he reported is actually false as well:
"I distinctly remember having a difficult time keeping the AA flight in sight after we turned back to the east to follow it per a request from Wash. Departure Control.   When I saw the initial explosion I was not able to see exactly where or what it had impacted, but remember trying to approximate a position to give to ATC.  It was then that I was able to see the sun reflecting off the Potomac and the runway at Wash. Nat'l and thought to myself that the AA flight must have had some sort of IFE (in flight emergency) and was trying to make it back to National Airport."
-C-130 Pilot Lt Col Steve O'Brien via email to Pilots for 9/11 Truth

McGraw, Stephen

"Lightpole witness"
"The plane clipped the top of a light pole just before it got to us, injuring a taxi driver, whose taxi was just a few feet away.

A perfect example of why alleged witnesses need to be questioned on details.

During Aldo Marquis' interview with him:
McGraw:  It seems the plane was so low that it hit a light pole uh that was um just um on the edge of the highway on the far side there um before it came over the highway it clipped this pole which I heard ended up being knocked over and hitting a taxi which was near near my car.

Aldo:  was it the whole pole or part?

McGraw: Uhhh that's a good that's a good question. Umm uh my recollection is is vague on that point but umm

Aldo: Did you see the light pole get knocked down?

McGraw: I didn't actually see the light pole go over or anything, no. I believe I later saw you know the evidence of the pole having been knocked over umm and I think that was just after the fact

Aldo: You deduced it.

DISINFO

Cissell, James
The reporter (Edit: Kimball Perry, Cincinnati Post) took extreme creative license not only with the title but also with the story as a whole. Why he felt the need to sensationalize anything that happened on September 11 is beyond me.

James Cissell

In response to this lie
scattering debris - including a tire rim suspected of belonging to the airplane - past his car. (...) In the next seconds dozens of things flashed through his mind. ''I thought, "This isn't really happening. That is a big plane." Then I saw the faces of some of the passengers on board,'' Cissell said.

Total invention.

Elgas, Penny
Context: Driving on a highway adjacent to the Pentagon on the morning of September 11, Penny Elgas stopped as she saw a passenger jet descend, clip a light pole near her, and then crash into the Pentagon. Arriving home, Elgas found this plane fragment in the back seat of her car (she theorizes that it dropped through the open sunroof). Feeling that it was her patriotic duty to preserve the fragment as a relic, she crafted a special box and lined it with red, white, and blue material.

http://americanhistory.si.edu/september11/...&mode=&record=0

When Penny Elgas was actually contacted she said:
HILL: "And you said you saw it..you saw it hit one of the lightpoles?

ELGAS:  No, I didn't see it hit. I heard on the news that it hit a lightpole. But that's how I ended up with a piece of the plane, is that it clipped the pole. The tail ---that was actually the tail that I turned into the Smithsonian. A piece of the tail.
.....

HILL:  And that kinda..the..what I was reading..it fell into your car?

ELGAS: Well, that's what they said, but that's not what happened.

HILL: You just picked it up, or..?

ELGAS: I picked it up.

Total invention.

Sepulveda, Noel
he was standing only 150 feet from the point of impact and for a brief moment he could see the body of the plane sticking out from the side of the building, followed by an explosion; and the blast of the impact was so tremendous, that from his vantage point, it threw him backward over 100 feet slamming into a light pole causing him internal injuries

Complete fabrication.

When contacted he placed himself at the South Parking underpass:

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/c...a7e60cb2ea7.jpg

He doesn't remember being knocked unconscious and certainly never mentioned being thrown "backward over 100ft".

Snaman, Steve
Steve Snaman, manager of the datacom division for Walker Seals, watched in horror from Fort McNair (across the river) as the jetliner came in low at full throttle, banked left and smashed into the wall of the Pentagon.

The above is total embellishment added by the reporter.

He saw the event from Fort McNair?

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/6915/fortmcnair.png

Stephens, Levi
Stars & Stripes September 12, 2001

Levi Stephens, 23, a courier for the Armed Forces Information Service, spoke of the crash:

"I was driving away from the Pentagon in the South Pentagon lot when I hear this huge rumble, the ground started shaking … I saw this [plane] come flying over the Navy Annex. It flew over the van and I looked back and I saw this huge explosion, black smoke everywhere."

CIT phoned and e-mailed this witness and revealed that the plane did not fly over his van and that he was "misquoted".

Contacted by CIT and discussed here:

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?s...0&#entry2465490

Winslow, Dave
Dave Winslow : AP reporter Dave Winslow also saw the crash. He said, "I saw the tail of a large airliner ... It ploughed right into the Pentagon."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/wtccrash/story/0...,550486,00.html

Another shocking piece of outdated disinfo by the media and also quoted on the Hoffman site.

His original statement was butchered from this:
David Winslow, a reporter with AP's Broadcast News Center in Washington, was sitting in his tenth-floor apartment, looking out at the capital, when he saw a jumbo tail go by him. "I heard this enormous sound of turbulence. . .As I turned to my right, I saw a jumbo tail go by me along Route 395. It was like the rear end of the fuselage was riding on 395. I just saw the tail go whoosh right past me. In a split second, you heard this boom. A combination of a crack and a thud. It rattled my windows. I thought they were going to blow out. Then came an enormous fireball."

http://www2.hawaii.edu/~julianr/lexisnexis/winslow1.txt
http://mouv4x8.club.fr/11Sept01/A0082_b_Th...%20aircraft.htm

Blatant manipulation.

JIM HOFFMAN/911RESEARCH.WTC7.NET DISINFO

Jim Hoffman's site hosts two media quotemine sites ("Someguyyoudontknow" and "Bart") where outdated proven disinfo has never been updated or corrected. and which includes those alleged accounts listed above.

Bell, Mickey

Painted as an alleged impact witness, yet his "account" is completely second hand

DiPaula, Michael
"Suddenly, an airplane roared into view, nearly shearing the roof off the trailer before slamming into the E ring. 'It sounded like a missile,' DiPaula recalls . . .
http://911research.wtc7.net/pentagon/evide...esses/bart.html

The section highlighted was made to have appeared to have been a direct quote by "Bart" when it was the reporter's words:

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/c...tu/879569b1.jpg

He was inside a trailer when the event occurred.

Hovis, Tom
...the aircarft went southwest near Springfield and then veered left over Arlington and then put the nose down coming over Ft Myer picking off trees and light poles near the helicopter pad next to building. It was as if he leveled out at the last minute and put it square into the building. The wings came off as if it went through an arch way leaving a hole in the side of the building it seems a little larger than the wide body of the aircraft.

He wasn't there. He was in his office "8 miles away" when the attack occurred and was relaying what others had told him.

This was deliberately ommitted from his original e-mail by Hoffman and the source he quoted:
Date: 9/14/2001 5:50:07 PM Pacific Daylight Time
From: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (tom hovis)

On this day of prayer I went to the Pentagon and prayed for those Americans that died at the hands of those evil monsters.

My office is 8 miles from the site.

Singleton, Jack
"Where the plane came in was really at the construction entrance," says Jack Singleton, president of Singleton Electric Co. Inc., Gaithersburg MD, the Wedge One electrical subcontractor. "The plane's left wing actually came in near the ground and the right wing was tilted up in the air. That right wing went directly over our trailer, so if that wing had not tilted up, it would have hit the trailer. My foreman, Mickey Bell, had just walked out of the trailer and was walking toward the construction entrance."

Singleton wasn't there and was recounting the second hand testimony of Mickey Bell who has never been quoted once in eleven years.

Ticknor, Henry

Source: Media

http://911research.wtc7.net/pentagon/evide...esses/bart.html
Henry Ticknor, intern minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, Virginia, was driving to church that Tuesday morning when American Airlines Flight 77 came in fast and low over his car and struck the Pentagon. "There was a puff of white smoke and then a huge billowing black cloud," he said.
http://www.uua.org/world/2002/01/feature3a.html

Incredible (well, not really) that this blatant lie is still posted at Hoffman's site.

Ticknor refuted the claims made that were used both by government loyalists to point to the alleged trail of white smoke seen in the gatecam stills (that nobody saw) and by those (at the time) who believed that a missile caused the damage.
Where did that come from? No idea, unless it was lifted from a UU World Magazine article for which I was interviewed at some length as an eyewitness. [You see on the morning of September 11, I was driving down Rt. 50 on my way to work at the Arlington UU Church when I saw a plane dive below the tree line and an immediate explosion. I did tell the World Magazine about the smoke; I never said the plane came in fast and low over my car, as I was five miles from the point of impact. Where is my right to privacy?"

Henry Ticknor

http://www.uushenandoah.org/sermons/050501.html

Still quoted on both "Bart" and "SGYDK". Both hosted by Hoffman.

SUSPECT ACCOUNTS

England, Lloyd

This guy deserves his own category.

Often labelled "confused" and/or "senile", I defy anybody to listen to the interviews with him and decide for yourselves if his contradictory stories are down to "confusion". Particulary comparing his claims before the NOC testimony came to light and his ducking and diving afterwards.

Details and links contained here:

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?s...0&#entry2465465

Storti, Steve
Time seemed to slip into slow motion as he watched the plane cross over Route 395, tip its left wing as it passed the Navy annex, veer sharply and then slice into the Pentagon. "I remember thinking that whoever is flying this knows what they're doing," Storti said. "The plane traveled straight as an arrow. It didn't waver and it didn't flip from side to side." Storti watched the plane slide silently into the Pentagon "like a car entering a garage."

A double whammy of second hand reporting and an alleged witness who has been proven to have been dishonest and having exaggerated his POV.

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?showtopic=1328

Steve Storti had no view after the aircraft had reached the Navy Annex, the Citgo or the lightpole area. It's a physical impossibility shown here:

http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/index.p...&#entry10788742

Storti's POV (aeriel):

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e207/Mer...tiOverhead2.jpg

At Jeff Hill's site he is also quoted as saying:
"I can tell you unequivocally, in the back of the jet, there were individuals moving around back there"

Complete nonsense.

Elhallan, Aziz

His contradictory claims are exposed here:

http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=8818

The photo in which he was captured and exposed within 5-6 minutes of the explosion, when he claimed to be in front of the Pentagon for "20 minutes" afterwards:

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e207/Mercury2/DSC_0404.jpg

This image was released along with multiple images en bloq and was quickly removed by the DOD. It was downloaded purely by luck. Why remove such an apparently innocuous image?

Timmerman, Tim
Tim Timmerman : Pilot. I was looking out the window; I live on the 16th floor, overlooking the Pentagon, in a corner apartment, so I have quite a panorama. And being next to National Airport, I hear jets all the time, but this jet engine was way too loud. I looked out to the southwest, and it came right down 395, right over Colombia Pike, and as is went by the Sheraton Hotel, the pilot added power to the engines. I heard it pull up a little bit more, and then I lost it behind a building. And then it came out, and I saw it hit right in front of -- it didn't appear to crash into the building; most of the energy was dissipated in hitting the ground, but I saw the nose break up, I saw the wings fly forward

Discussed here:

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?s...dpost&p=2465163

The "panoramic view":

http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/uu311/b...ket/timmVig.gif

http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s360/Li...reaBlackOut.jpg

He would have had a fraction of a second to view what he described if he was staring at the exact spot where he claims that the aircraft emerged having disappeared from his view

Walter, Mike

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0vxc50xAbk

Where to start...

Discussed here:

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?showtopic=119&st=0

And here:

http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/index.p...603&mode=linear

And here:

http://www.911oz.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=9129

His story has continually morphed but on the morning of 9/11 he was interviewed and claimed that he couldn't physically see the alleged impact because of "trees"
"GUMBEL: Did you see it hit the Pentagon? Was the plane coming in horizontally or did it, in fact, go on its wing as--as it impacted the building?

Mr. WALTER: You know, the--the--the--there were trees there that kind of obstructed it, so I kind of--I saw it go in. I'm not sure if it turned at an angle. I've heard some people say that's what it did. All I know is it--it created a huge explosion and massive fireball and...

GUMBEL: Tell me, if you could, about the manner in which the--the plane struck the building. I ask that because, in the pictures we have seen, it appears to be a gash in the side of the Pentagon as if the plane went in vertically as opposed to horizontally. Can you tell me anything about that?

Mr. WALTER: Well, as I said, you know, there were trees obstructing my view, so I saw it as it went--and then the--then the trees, and then I saw the--the fireball and the smoke. Some people have said that the plane actually sent on its side and in that way. But I can't tell you, Bryant. I just know that what I saw was this massive fireball, a huge explosion and--and a--the thick column of smoke and then an absolute bedlam on those roads as people were trying to get away."

Gumbel (unintentionally) used the same interview technique on Walter regarding specifics of the alleged impact as Aldo Marquis used when interviewing Stephen McGraw on his claims on the lightpole and Lloyd's cab.

The trees can be seen here (Walter claims to have been slightly further back):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jrSUHbMhJo

Embellishment, lying, call it what you want.

Wheelhouse, Keith

Totally contradicts all other verified witnesses on the direction from which the C130 was seen arriving, and video evidence of when it arrived (including the C130 pilot himself, Steve O'Brien)

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/lyt...eelhousegif.gif

He had no view of the alleged impact area from his stated position, nor any view of the area to gauge the flightpath of the aircraft:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/lyt...fs/ancgif-1.gif

Discussed here (includes more contradictions):

http://z3.invisionfree.com/CIT/index.php?s...0&#entry2465084

SUBTLE DISINFO, MANIPULATION, SECOND HAND AND ANONYMOUS ACCOUNTS

"Journalistic license" on adding details not described by the alleged witness have been highlighted.

Ryan, Darb
in his office at the Navy Annex

Having learned that New York had been attacked, he was on the telephone recommending the evacuation of the Pentagon "when out of the corner of my eye I saw the airplane" a split second before it struck.

More "journalistic license" where the reporter added his own 2 cents.

Ryan allegedly caught sight of the aircraft. That's it.

Subtle disinfo.

Keglovich, James
She said her brother, James Keglovich, 38, a carpenter working near the Pentagon, was on break across the street from that structure when the airliner tore into the building. He and his friends witnessed the plane approaching.

He told her they began exclaiming, "Where's he going? What's he doing?" when suddenly they saw the plane clip a taxi cab on the nearby bridge. The crash was exceptionally loud, he said. It shook the building and knocked people down who were closer to the point of impact.

Totally fabricated media piece on a third hand account where the reporter makes the claim that the plane "clip[ped] a taxi cab"

Stuart, Chris

"They Saw"
Lance Cpl. Chris Stuart, a 21-year-old Marine on the President’s color guard, was working at the building when the plane crashed into it.
His fiancé Amanda Hyden said. “I tried getting through to him but all the phone lines at his barracks were busy. Eventually, later that night I got word that he’d been drilling outdoors and actually saw the impact right before his eyes.”

This is an alleged third hand account of this alleged person's girlfriend who allegedly heard from somebody that this had happened to her boyfriend...

"Drilling outdoors"? Where? On the lawn? Alone?
Or was he drilling in between the cars in the parking lots that were full that morning?

Sutherland, Jim

Jim Sutherland, a mortgage broker, was on his way to the Pentagon when he saw ... a white 737 twin-engine plane with multicolored trim fly 50 feet over I-395 in a straight line, striking the side of the Pentagon..
http://www.cincypost.com/2001/sep/11/wash091101.html
www.thedailycamera.com...

This is a second hand media report and Jim Sutherland is not quoted once. It's also reported by The Cincinnati Post which was lambasted by James Cissell for manipulating his account.

 Marra, David

"It was 50 ft. off the deck when he came in. It sounded like the pilot had the throttle completely floored. The plane rolled left and then rolled right. Then he caught an edge of his wing on the ground."

There is a helicopter pad right in front of the side of the Pentagon. The wing touched there, then the plane cartwheeled into the building.

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8...74655-4,00.html

The aircraft did not "cartwheel" and the Pentagon lawn was not marked by the "wing".

In fact the "cartwheel" statement isn't made by Marra but added by the journalist.

Elliott, Bruce
Elliott, in a phone interview Wednesday, said he had just left the Pentagon and was about to board a shuttle van in a south parking lot when he saw the plane approach and slam into the west side of the structure. "I looked to my left and saw the plane coming in," said Elliott, who watched it for several seconds. "It was banking and garnering speed. I felt it was headed for the Pentagon." (...) "It was like a kamikaze pilot. I felt it was going to ram the Pentagon," he said. He said the craft clipped a utility pole guide wire, which may have slowed it down a bit before it crashed into the building and burst into flames.

"It was banking and garnering speed. I felt it was headed for the Pentagon." (...) "It was like a kamikaze pilot. I felt it was going to ram the Pentagon"

The reporter added his own spin.

Gaines, Kat
Kat Gaines, heading south on Route 110, approached the parking lots, saw a low-flying jetliner strike the top of nearby telephone poles.
http://www.fccc.org/News/valor.htm

Technician Kat Gaines
Fairfax County Fire & Rescue
Certificate of Valor

Gaines was on her way to a part-time job at Reagan National Airport the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, after working a 24-hour shift at Fire Station 16 in Clifton.
Her commute to the airport took her south on Route 110, in front of the parking lots of the Pentagon. As she approached the parking lots, she saw a low-flying jetliner strike the top of nearby telephone poles. She then heard the plane power up and plunge into the Pentagon.

http://web.archive.org/web/20020613210921/.../News/valor.htm

Kat Gaines has never been quoted once. Completely second hand account.

Johnson, Megan
"'Today is my worst day yet,' said Megan Johnson of Bristow, Va., yesterday. She was on Interstate 395 when the terrorist plane flew directly in front of her car into the Pentagon.

Second hand account. Media embellishment added to her alleged words - "Today is my worst day yet". Meaningless and unconfirmed.

Jones, Eric
was driving through nearby Arlington, Va., when he saw the plane slam into the Pentagon's northwest outer wall.

In the days after the event he is alleged to have said:
"I am a volunteer firefighter who happened to be driving near the Pentagon when the plane crashed into it. I stopped the car and ran to the site."

He doesn't mention seeing the aircraft before the explosion. Nor the alleged impact.
CROWLEY: "A volunteer firefighter and grad student at George Washington university, Eric Jones was headed to class when he saw the smoke, pulled into the Pentagon parking lot and ran into the fiery building."
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0209/11/se.37.html

The latter second hand testimony points to him seeing the "smoke" and not the aircraft nor the alleged impact.

Kizildrgli, Aydan
Aydan Kizildrgli, an English language student who is a native of Turkey, saw the jetliner bank slightly then strike a western wall of the huge five-sided building that is the headquarters of the nation's military.
'There was a big boom,' he said. 'Everybody was in shock. I turned around to the car behind me and yelled "Did you see that? Nobody could believe it.'
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2001/0...attack-usat.htm

The guy allegedly described a "big boom". That's all. The journalist padded out the account.

 Krohn, Charles H.
One of the aircraft's engines somehow ricocheted out of the building and arched into the Pentagon's mall parking area between the main building and the new loading dock facility, said Charles H. Krohn, the Army's deputy chief of public affairs. Those fleeing the building heard a loud secondary explosion about 10 min. after the initial impact.

This "engine" has never been shown or identified. Even if it were true, how could it possibly get to the "mall parking"?

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/c...tu/8ae911bc.jpg

Krug, Ann
Ann Krug's kindergarten class saw the plane crash outside the classroom's window. "I actually pointed it out and said: 'Look at this plane; look at how low it's flying,' " Krug recalled. "And then we all saw it come down."

http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/rjhymel.htm

Complete fabrication by the Washington Post reporter. There is no view of the Pentagon from the school (see her breakdown)

Le Grand, La Verne
"It's a horrible feeling because you're afraid all the time. You're afraid to go out," said District resident La Verne Le Grand, 60, who was riding in a car on Columbia Pike on the morning of September 11 and saw the plane crash into the Pentagon. Since then, she has been admitted twice to Washington Hospital Center for treatment of severe anxiety.

"It's a horrible feeling because you're afraid all the time. You're afraid to go out."

That's it. The reporter added the "plane crash" statement to an account that doesn't mention the aircraft or any other details.

Pak, Zinovy
Russian Munitions Agency director was on his way to the Pentagon for negotiations over U.S. funding for a southern Urals chemical weapons destruction facility.

"saw a plane crash into the building."

Who saw? "I", "he"?

That's it. Another unconfirmed second hand media one-liner allegedly from an arms dealer go-between..

Patterson, Steve
Steve Patterson, who lives in Pentagon City,..a commuter jet swooped over Arlington National Cemetery and headed for the Pentagon...The plane was about 150 yards away, approaching from the west about 20 feet off the ground, Patterson said.

He said the plane, which sounded like the high-pitched squeal of a fighter jet, flew over Arlington cemetary so low that he thought it was going to land on I-395. He said it was flying so fast that he couldn't read any writing on the side. The plane, which appeared to hold about eight to 12 people,

Another completely second hand account. "His" alleged testimony is bizarre.

There's also this concerning this alleged witness:
It was originally posted at 5pm on September 11th by the Washington Post by Barbara Vobejda. On asking her for contact details:

"Joel Skousen of  'World Affairs Brief' reported that: "I have, so far, been unable to locate a Steven Patterson in the Pentagon City area of Arlington, Va. None of the graphic design firms in the area that I called have heard of him.
Barbara Vobejda told me she didn't have a contact number for him
..."
and that his testimony was received by "one of the dozens of "stringers" they had out in the field that day interviewing people on the ground."

http://www.mail-archive.com/ctrl@listserv....m/msg88812.html
A reporter or photographer can "string" for a news organization in a number of different capacities and with varying degrees of regularity, so that the relationship between the organization and the stringer is typically very loose. When it is difficult for a staff reporter or photographer to reach a location quickly for breaking news stories, larger news organizations often rely on local stringers to provide rapid scene descriptions, quotations or photos. In this capacity, stringers are used heavily by most television news organizations and some print publications for video footage, photos, and interviews.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stringer_(journalism)

Sheuerman, Philip
Philip Sheuerman, exiting the freeway, turning into the parking lot, of the Pentagon. saw "... a passenger plane ..."

Sheuerman, who had just heard about the attacks on the World Trade Center minutes before, realized that “it was perfectly obvious what (the plane) was going to do.”

He saw the plane slam into the Pentagon.

Sheuerman is alleged to have said that he saw the plane. The reporter adds the "he saw the impact" line.

Smith, Dennis
in the Pentagon's center courtyard

Dennis Smith, a building inspector and former Marine, was smoking a cigarette in the center courtyard when he heard the roar of engines and looked up in time to see the tail of a plane seconds before it exploded into the building.

Government Executive Magazine

Completely second hand testimony.

Vaughan, Clyde (Brig. Gen)
Vaughn said "I was scanning the air" as he was sitting in his car.
"There wasn't anything in the air, except for one airplane, and it looked like it was loitering over Georgetown, in a high, left-hand bank," he said. "That may have been the plane. I have never seen one on that (flight) pattern."
Georgetown is a sector of the District of Columbia jammed with shops and restaurants - it is one of the city's most vital tourist draws. Commercial aircraft that are either approaching or departing from nearby Ronald Reagan National Airport do not fly over Georgetown, and rather trace their flight route over the nearby Potomac River, which separates the district from South Arlington, Virginia, location of the Pentagon. A few minutes later, Vaughn witnessed the craft's impact.

http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/09/13/pentagon.terrorism/

Vaughan's only description was of allegedly seeing the aircraft in an area that contradicts the official "loop". What came after was completely second hand.
CNN investigative journalism at its best..

Reality Check

The official speed

Allegedly 540-580mph

This video shows speeds of up to 500mph (80mph less than the OCT speed):

Others interviewed by the Library of Congress

Wagstaff, Reed — Navy Annex ("Everything rattled..we actually felt the pressure wave of the explosion...
we found out later that the plane missed the Navy Annex by 10-15 feet")

Turner, Rob — Navy Annex ("but when I hear people say they were on the other side of the building and they didn't even know what happened or that they didn't hear anything I find it hard to believe...I felt the crash at the Navy Annex...it amazes me")

Most notably for me, some of those who are painted as the strongest alleged impact witnesses, also describe a physical reaction just before or just after the event. Most of which had between 0.5-1 second to assiimilate what was happening, yet give lucid descriptions of what they allegedly saw.

— Donley (0.5 seconds)
— Owens (0.5 seconds)
— McGraw (0.5 seconds)
— Probst (0.4 seconds max.)
— Bouchoux (1 second)
— Sepulveda (1 second)

What's ridiculous is the suggestion that those within the area closest to the explosion didn't physically flinch during an event which took seconds. In some cases, a fraction of a second.

And that some people don't differentiate between sitting looking at a computer screen at Google streetview in the comfort of their own homes, focussed on a specific area with an unobstructed view through a still image taken from 1 meter above a vehicle to sitting in a car, in heavy traffic, unaware of what was about to unfold.

We're talking about a large aircraft bearing down on a basin of land, in an area where aircraft land and take off at regular intervals.

Pentagon Witness List 09 Sep 2012 14:27 #2479

Connections and Control

No, this isn't a section claiming that all of these people were "in on it", although embellishment, peer pressure and cognitive dissonance play a major part.

There have been cases of proven dishonesty and of obvious meshing of the official account with what many alleged witnesses are on record as witnessing that day. What stands out to me personally is the alleged witness pool

Whether by design or by connection (or both), what we have are the alleged testimonies of entire organizations and individuals blindly loyal to the government and/or their careers.

Military brass and contractors.
The media.
People who actually influence foreign policy.
People with connections to the "secret service".
People actually involved in government.
People who were part and parcel of bolstering up the official story and the lies we were fed.

The event did occur within a military zone, close to the Capitol, and the USA Today buildings were within driving distance. But, the overwhelming majority of alleged witnesses (on public record) are solely drawn from within the aforementioned areas.

These witness media quotemines are controlled sources of information open to bias and a subtle form of manipulation. The lack of detail in questioning, unsourced quotes (read Patterson account), and second hand embellishment are more concerned with journalistic "license" and "headlines" rather than breaking down what was actually described in a methodical, investigative manner.

The use of these media quotemines by some to determine what happened that day is flawed.

Only when CIT asked the relevant questions from without the controlled public witness pool, did a different story start to emerge.

Robert Turcios (a gas station attendant), 2 DPS Policemen and cemetery workers whose stories were buried and censored by the Center of Military History and ignored by "investigative journalists" corroboratively painted a different picture when asked details of what they saw. Details that the media lapdogs have no interest in.

How about Roosevelt Roberts' claim of seeing a "second aircraft" in the parking lot?

How were alleged, ambiguous, unsourced snippets given precedence over witnesses with incredible vantage points underneath the path of the plane?

What's been unearthed so far points to a complete contradiction of the official narrative on all levels because CIT asked the questions that the media avoided.

Even at first glance, before any one on one interviews were carried out, there is an apparent recurring theme among these alleged witness testimonies when details were actually given.

1) Nobody describes the directional damage path

2) The aircraft is repeatedly described as having been seen over Washington, contradicting the official "loop" shown by the RADES data and alleged (and proven manipulated) FDR data.

- Kopf (Director of Information Technology, USA Today)
- Mitch  Mitchell (CBS Military Consultant/Army Colonel)

- Owens (Gannett News Service)
- Sucherman (USA Today)
- Van Sustern (CNN Legal Analyst and Anchor)
- Walter (USA Today)
- Winslow (AP Reporter)
- Wright (USA Today)

The media was and still is, guilty of proven embellishment, invention and manipulation of alleged witness testimonies (Cissell, Elgas, Campos, Winslow) through to journalists who were allegedly there actually lying themselves (Walter)

The media censored information on the E4B witnessed over Washington and the C130 witnessed over Arlington, so the claim that the media as a whole doesn't goosestep under the banner of "national security" doesn't hold any water. A corporation is a corporation.

Many of the alleged testimonies contradicted the official version, yet the same media stopped right there.

Another factor to be weighed is that those journalists allegedly along Route 27 may very well have embellished their accounts for their own newspapers and publications (which has been proven). Some of their initial accounts of mayhem, confusion, seeing a "fireball", etc, morphed into concise testimonies based on after the fact information in the days and weeks that followed.

The same standards can be set for military personnel as for the media, but from a different angle. Many alleged testimonies are from serving or former military personnel who weren't even at the Pentagon that day but happened to be in the area.

The military, particulary the brass, are trained to take orders and to conform.

Again, I'm not targetting individuals as being complicit to what happened that day, but trying to demonstrate how the witness pool appears to be selective.

Those who work for or have connections (in many cases highly connected) to the government

- Bauer (PNAC signatory)
- Clem (Chief Information Officer/Deputy Director of Defence Intelligence Agency)
- Eberle (GOPUSA founder)

- Smiley (works in terrorist intelligence for the Federal Aviation Administration)
- Taylor (Defence Intelligence Agency)
- Trapasso (Political Appointee to the Clinton Administration)

There are a lot of strange bedfellows mentioned above. Who among most of these people is not going to "do their bit" in the name of "national security"? How many of those listed would dare contradict their peers? Fear, blind loyalty and cognitive dissonance are major factors.

Remember that 9/11 occurred just after a decade in which witnesses to the TWA800 shoot down and the Oklahoma Bombing created major problems for the state. What better way to control information than by letting the media puppets control the flow of that information? Or that the witness pool consists of people whose ambitions, careers and loyalty depend on the government?
